Disciples – Be One. Make One.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19)
As we look to New Beginnings in 2019 let us look to a how we can achieve the victorious life that can only come through “Reaching Others for Christ’s Kingdom – One Soul at a Time!” You may ask, actually how do we put legs on that tagline we hear so often at Rock of Ages? Well, Christian Friends, as we embark upon a New Year we want to join in with our fellow sisters and brothers in helping them become all they can be in Christ. We want to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free and simply pour into weary souls who have been trying this thing call ‘life’ all on their own. In this crazy mixed up world, it’s so easy to associate victorious living with success, not falling or stumbling or making mistakes. But those who are successful in their own strength tend to go their own way, and forgetting God. It’s through our problems and failure, weaknesses and neediness, that we learn to rely on God.
True dependence is not simply asking God to bless what you or I have done or decided to do. It is coming to God with an open mind and heart, inviting God to plant His desires, His plans for our lives within you. God may infuse within you and us dreams that seems so far beyond our reach. You know in yourself we cannot achieve such a goal.
You may say, that all sounds good, but how do we actually achieve this goal? I am glad you asked that question. This year we are going to put words in to action by not only being a Disciple (follower of Christ) but also helping to make others a Disciple as well.
Won’t you join us on the journey for true dependence and profound reliance of God. It is a faith walk, taking one step at a time, leaning and trusting in God continually. However, each stumble is followed by a growth spurt, nourished by increased love and dependence on God.
C’mon with us and enjoy the new beginnings on life deepening yours and our dependence on God.
Your Servant Leader,
Pastor Henderson[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
